Building Upgrades for USDA, New Orleans, LA

Jarrett Construction Company was selected as the Prime Contractor by the USDA - Beltsville for a 66,000-sf Building Upgrades project located in New Orleans, LA, that involved relocating/elevating mechanical and electrical systems located within the basement floors of the Administration Wing, Chemical Wing, Industrial Wing, and Textile Wing. 

Project also included replacing the Textile Wing roof, the Service Building roof, and replacing the remaining original steel windows at the Industrial Wing with new aluminum framed insulted windows.  In addition, Jarrett renovated the basement floor of the Industrial Wing, the basement floor of the Administration Wing, the basement floor of the Chemical Wing and partial renovation of the Industrial and Chemical Wings, renovated the first floor of the Textile Wing and provided mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and communication systems as indicated. 

 Jarrett constructed an exterior stairwell adjacent to the existing, demolished the existing stairwell and elevator, and provided new floor structure, partitions, and finishes.  The $17.28 million project began construction in May, 2009.
